Hello, and thank you for your interest in who I am and what I am all about. I am a 29 year-old high school science teacher, professional belly dancer, and now author. I was always a curious child, forever in discovery of the world around me. I grew up reading, writing, playing outside and pursuing the random ideas and projects that would enter my indiscriminate little mind - beautiful spats of passion that usually died down with a typical child's attention span. Nonetheless, I have always had an endless flow of imagination and restless need for learning.

People often ask me what it is that inspired me to pursue writing this ultramodern young-adult series. In all honesty, I was more inspired by science, my favorite subject, than science fiction. Stemming from curiosity came this field in which answers are sought out through imagination, innovation, and intellect. It requires creative thinking, quantitative reasoning, and avid questioning. Why would anyone not want to become a scientist? I love being an advocate for science - showing  people just how fascinating and eye-opening it can really be to understand things as large as the multi-universe or as small as the subatomic world.

I spent nine years in college obtaining degrees in the sciences, but found that I wanted...needed a job that allowed me to blend my love of the sciences and the arts. -- after all the best things in life are balanced. What better way to accomplish this goal than by writing young-adult science-fiction? Unlike my childhood flashes of inspiration, this first book series, Across the Infinite Void, has become my most proud and accomplished endeavor that I have a blast writing.

I am no expert in the world of space and so, as a prerequisite to writing this book, I met with astrophysicists and aerospace engineers as my own personal research. I've downloaded lecture series and poured myself into the geek world's of astrobiology and geophysics. Wow am I learning a lot! In the end, this is a unique sci-fi in which the science is right, and its readers will hopefully be enlightened even without quite knowing it. I put a sincere effort in creating a scientifically-plausible, yet imaginably-rich world. A world that reads like fantasy, but is sprinkled with a not-so-subliminal scientific undertone.

              A little about the book...

This series has been cultivating in my mind for a decade. It started as slow rumblings of scattered thought that eventually became so thunderous I sat down and wrote the first book in the series, Journey to Ohmani, in a whopping ten weeks. Since labels seem to be rampant and necessary in our lives, I am calling this series a young-adult science-fiction, although it is just as much a murder-mystery and is dabbled with romance and comedy.

Journey to Ohmani is a strong and fast-paced story of a young man named Levi Avondale who is forced to move to a progressive city in space with his family after having grown-up in a small, antiquated town in the future. He is wrought with typical teenager angst as he tries to acclimate to a new world filled with technological marvels and unfamiliar alien species. Soon after arriving, his mother is arrested as a murder suspect and Levi must navigate his new home whilst trying to solve her homicide case and keep his family safe from the political drama unfolding on Ohmani. I promise you lots of twists and turns...

To say these books are my babies would be an understatement. Putting your brain's work out for people to read is such a scary feeling. I want this story to connect with everyone's inner geek, as well as be a page turner. I hope it's as easy to read as a summer breeze, but caters to your depth as a person. I hope that you cannot put it down, and yet when you do, you google Langrangian Points or retrovirus. Being curious is one of the best traits a person can have - just not so much for the cat apparently.

I feel blessed by all the positive feedback little old me and my book are receiving :)  I am not a seasoned author...yet...but I believe in my books and the stories they tell with everything that I have to offer. As the creator, I hope I can offer you an escape, many moments of awe, lively thought, a few laughs and gasps, and a new favorite book series. I hope you stay with me as I release the second installment, An Eagle's Revenge. Until then...

            Keep Righting & Writing,
